The Play-off's and an Early Dinner

Sunday's are my favorite day. Today we watched football (7 total hours...ugggg) and we decided to grill steaks and have an early dinner at 4pm. It's been awhile since we've cooked at home. Between the holidays, leftovers, gift certificates to restaurants, etc we just haven't been home to eat much. Our dinner menu consisted of the following:
2 NY Strip Steaks purchased from Esicars Old Hickory Meats on Kingshighway in Cape.

Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole

Here's the recipe for the casserole.

Ingredients

1 (2 pound) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
1/2 cup melted butter
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal
1/4 cup melted butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine hash browns, 1/2 cup melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, Cheddar cheese, and pepper. Place mixture in a 3 quart casserole dish.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, saute cornflakes in 1/4 cup melted butter, and sprinkle the mixture over the top of the casserole.
Bake covered in preheated oven for 40 minutes. Take off cover and bake for 20 more minutes.

My family loves this stuff. An entire pan will feed us for about 4 days.

For our vegetable, we had steamed broccoli florets (I only eat the "trees" I hate the "stems") and I seasoned them with this little lifesaver:
This seasoning is pure deliciousness. It has replaced my Lawry's seasoned salt obsession. Daniel even said he liked the broccoli tonight! I'm sure it's just because of this stuff ;)

At last we were ready to eat. Turned out to be another great Sunday.
